International Year of the Potato (IYP)
Gorta, the affiliate of the Food and Agricultural Organisation (FAO) of the United Nations (UN) in Ireland is delighted to announce that 2008 has been designated International Year of the Potato (IYP). 2008 will raise awareness of the importance of the potato - and of agriculture in general - in addressing issues of global concern, including hunger, poverty and threats to the environment.
